Resin is a very porous material, allowing water to pass through at a rate of approximately 850 liters per minute per square meter. This is far greater than typical rainfall, meaning your driveway will remain free of puddles even during heavy rainfall.
Unlike traditional tarmac or block paving, which often struggle to manage large volumes of water, resin-bound surfaces allow water to naturally drain into the sub-soil below. This reduces the risk of stormwater runoff and minimizes the strain on storm drains, helping prevent flooding in rivers and local drainage systems.

Resin Bound Driveways
To look at from a distance, you would think these are gravel driveways and in fairness you would be almost correct.
Resin Driveways are built and constructed using small gravel stones that are bound together to form a hard, but completely seamless surface. It has the same porous capabilities as gravel, but without the movement and constant need to sweep and rake. Resin bound driveways are 100% building regulations approved.
There are a wide choice of colours available and you can have patterns and features that are perhaps a different colour from the remaining sections of the driveways. Great if you want a path to stand out.

We work closely with our clients to devise a project plan. This includes designing the resin driveway, paths, borders, drainage and colours schemes.

Resin Bound Driveway: FAQ's
In general, if you are replacing or buidling a new driveway you will not need planning permission. Because resin is permeable/porous and allows water to drain through the surface, this prevents surface water from entering the storm water drains.
Resin can be used on a variety of existing surfaces, including concrete, asphalt, and brick. If we are widening, extending, or the existing structure is not suitable, then you are likely to need a new sub-base.
