A soakaway is a drainage system designed to manage rainwater or surface water by allowing it to be absorbed and filtered into the ground. It typically consists of storage crates that are surrounded by gravel that help water to percolate down through the soil.
Soakaways are commonly used to prevent water from pooling or flooding around buildings, especially in areas where traditional drainage systems are not available or suitable. They are often used for managing runoff from roofs, driveways, or other impermeable surfaces.
