Patio: FAQ's
No you do not need planning for a patio. There is some building regulations best practice to adhere to and that primarily to keep the finished surface 150mm (2 courses) below damp. This is to prevent penetrating damp to the brickwork. Soakaways should also be kept at least 5 meters away from the house or road.
If you patio slopes toward the house, then we will need to install channel drainage and either connect these to existing storm water pipework or to a new soakaway. This will reduce the liklihood of your patio flooding.
We will need to install a new sub-base regardless of which material is being used.

We only install UV stable resin. This kind of gravel resin doesn’t fade or discolour over time, so your drive will hold its colour for years to come..
All patios will need some annual maintenance. Depending on the amount of greenery in your garden and the weather, this will determine how much cleaning may be required. But typically cleaning is only required once per year.
